
Catholic Charities Seeks New Managing Director
October 5, 2021 – Greensburg — In the spirit of Jesus Christ, our mission is to bring help, hope and healing to God’s people as the charitable, service and outreach arm of the Bishop and the Diocese of Greensburg. The Managing Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg is responsible for leading, directing, and operationalizing that mission.
The Executive Managing Director is responsible for working collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to achieve the goals and objectives set forth in the organization’s strategic plan:
o Distribution of direct assistance to those in need.
o Delivery of faith-based mental health and addiction recovery services.
o Enhancement of information and referral services with a renewed focus on the aging population.
o Development of resources to support new and culturally diverse members of our parish communities.
o Implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy.
o Engagement of our parishes in the work of Catholic Charities.
Additionally, the Executive Managing Director will establish an annual budget, facilitate collaboration and partnerships by personally promoting participation, volunteerism, leadership and philanthropy within the Diocesan and Catholic Charities and the greater Diocesan ecumenical community. The Managing Director will participate in the Pennsylvania Catholic Conference Directors gatherings and will be a member of the Social Concerns Department of the PCC, both at the appointment of the diocesan bishop.
Qualifications and Requirements:
o Must be a practicing Catholic.
o Master’s degree required.
o Minimum 10 years of experience in human services, 5 years of experience in management/administration.
o Demonstrated success in a leadership role in a human service/non-profit agency.
o Direct experience with budgeting.
o Understanding of grants, funding sources and major gifts with proven track record of in successful fundraising.
o Experience with marketing, human resource management, board and volunteer relations.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Demonstrated ability to represent and enhance the organizational values:
o We answer the calls for help with urgency and compassion. Our resources and those of our partner agencies are the clearinghouse for the material, spiritual and mental health needs of the Diocese.
o We value our new and culturally diverse neighbors. That is why we strive to make our parish communities welcoming and supportive with service, volunteer and stewardship opportunities to bridge divides and share our love of Christ.
o We have deep love and concern for God’s people, especially the aging and at-risk of Western Pa. Our organization is focused on advocacy and empowerment, providing help, hope and healing to those who need it the most.
