Statement from Bishop Larry J. Kulick, JCL, on the passing of Joseph Malesic, Father of Bishop Edward C. Malesic, Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland and former Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg
.
“I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Joseph Malesic, the dear father of Bishop Edward C. Malesic. While Bishop Malesic was here in Greensburg, I had the privilege to come to know Mr. Malesic personally and he was so energetic and filled with faith and devotion. At times, it was hard for me to believe he was past the age of 100 because of his incredible physical and spiritually vitality. God truly blessed Mr. Malesic with a beautiful long life. He was blessed to watch his son become a priest and to see him become the fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg and to become 12th Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland. Bishop Malesic, his brother Robert and his wife Constance and the entire family are in my prayers. May God grant this gentle soul eternal rest as he is reunited in heaven with his wife, Elizabeth and their children.”
In loving memory of Joseph Malesic, the father of Bishop Edward C. Malesic.
In 2020, when Bishop Edward C. Malesic, fifth Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg was appointed 12th Bishop of the Diocese of Greensburg, the staff of The Catholic Accent did a story with Mr. Malesic. Watch an excerpt from that story here.
