
Multimedia Journalist Mary Seamans Wins Video, Social Media Awards
Mary Seamans, Multimedia Journalist for The Catholic Accent, received Catholic Media, Telly and Communicator Awards for spiritual and religious video production and social media development. Seamans produced an Eastern European nut roll feature for The Accent On-Air on WTAE, which doubled as a social media package, and won third place for best use of video on social media by the Catholic Media Association. Her work on a Catholic Charities special appeal was given a Communicator Award of Distinction for best public service campaign, social media campaign and marketing effectiveness. The appeal also won a bronze Telly Award for non-profit online fundraising, second place for best social media campaign and second place for best ad campaign by the Catholic Media Association. The Catholic Media Association awards acknowledge outstanding work by Catholic Communicators across North America as they strive to further the mission of the Church. The Telly Awards is the largest honor for video and television content across all screens, receiving 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents. The Communicator Awards are presented by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts and receive more than 5,000 entries each year from around the country.
