GREENSBURG – More than 100 middle schools students from around the Diocese of Greensburg gathered at Christ Our Shepherd Center for PAX: The Adventure Awaits!, a one-day retreat for students in sixth through eighth grade designed to provide a fun and faithful experience for the young church.
“PAX is a wonderful event for our young people because it allows them to be themselves with music, games and food,” said Elizabeth Haberstroh, Associate Director of the Office of Faith, Family and Discipleship. “Most importantly, the PAX event offers them an opportunity to experience our Catholic traditions and grow in their Catholic faith with their peers. They experience Jesus when they are here and know how loved they are by Him and His Church.”
This day included entailed dynamic speakers, five different adventures, food, fun, a Eucharistic procession, Adoration and Reconciliation. The retreat ended with the students’ families joining for Mass in Saint Joseph Chapel celebrated by Father Daniel E. Carr, Director of Ministry Formation for the Diocese and pastor at Saint Regis Parish, Trafford.
PAX events are a collaborative effort of the Regional Directors of Discipleship and Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Greensburg and the Office of Faith, Family and Discipleship.
Watch The Catholic Accent for the next PAX event Planned in November.
