
WHJB’s Jessica Jupena Honored for Work on Community Affairs Show
WHJB’s Jessica Jupena, who produces the station’s community affairs show called “Westmoreland Community Connections” received two awards of distinction in the 27th annual Communicator Awards announced last week including best audio news program, and in the craft category, editing for audio. The Communicator Awards specifically recognized the Heroes of Hope program which detailed the outstanding efforts of individuals in the community who never stopped giving of their time, talent and treasure during the COVID-19 pandemic. Each one of those individuals was recognized by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg as a “Guardian Angel” of their community. “Westmoreland Community Connections” host Jennifer Miele also received an award of distinction for best on-air audio talent. The Communicator Awards are presented by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts and receive more than 5,000 entries each year from around the country.
