Bishop: Church will accompany faithful during challenging time
As measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) intensified, the Diocese of Greensburg began a series of responses to support Catholics and their families.
Bishop Edward C. Malesic, after consulting with the Presbyteral Council and senior staff, suspended celebration of Mass, closed Catholic schools, postponed THE WELL men’s conference, and suspended a wide range of parish gatherings, including fish fry dinners.
And as the situation changed rapidly, Bishop Malesic wrote a letter of assurance to the people of the diocese and instructed the Office of Communications and Evangelization to use all forms of communication to enable people to have access to the Mass and a wide variety of prayer and liturgical resources.
