Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Bernard Education Contest Awards

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Bernard recently held an Awards Ceremony to honor the local winners of their National Education Contest. Students from St. Bernard’s Regional Catholic School and Home School students competed in 4 categories using the themes of “God’s love and kindness will shine upon us like the sun that rises in the sky.” or “How does my love shine for others?” Students were encouraged to use their skill, talent and imagination while conforming to the rules of the competition.
In Division I (4th and 5th grade) the Art winners were Christian Scott, first, Clarice Colatch, second, and Cailyn Farester and Samantha Ferguson, third. In Essay, Lillianna Dascani was the third-place winner, and Sullivan Riexinger won second place in Poetry. Division II (6th, 7th and 8th grade) winners in Computer Art were Samarah Scott, first, Ben Knudsen, second and Chase Arone, third. The first place Art winner was Samarah Scott, second place, Aaron Mattini and third place, Lena Beppler. Sam Pittman won first place in the Photography competition, with Emily Ferguson taking second, and Wyatt Bennett, third. In Poetry, Samarah Scott took second place, and Aaron Mattini, third. Nathaniel McFeaters won first place in the Essay competition. In conjunction with the student competition, there was also a division for adult members of CDA. Barbara Minor received second place for her poetry entry, and Cheyenne Keith won second place in Art. In the Photography competition, Barbara Minor took first, and Arlene Yackuboskey was second.
All first-place entries have been forwarded to the state competition.
