Bishop Kulick to Install Pastors

GREENSBURG – July 12, 2022 – Three priests from the Philippines who are in the International Priests Program in the Diocese of Greensburg, will be installed as pastors at three parishes.

Father Efren Ambre, who is serving his second five year term in the Diocesan International Priest Program, will be installed as pastor of Saint Peter Parish in Brownsville and Saint Cecilia Parish, Grindstone. Father Timothy Kruthaupt, pastor of the parishes since 2016, is retiring.  Father Ambre was pastor at Saint John the Baptist parish in Perryopolis  In 2019, in  accordance with U.S. immigration policy, Father Ambre returned to his home Diocese in the Philippines. Earlier this year, he returned to to the Diocese of Greensburg to begin serving his second five year term in the International Priests Program. Bishop Kulick will install him as pastor of Saint Peter Parish on July 16, at 4 p.m. and as pastor at Saint Cecelia on July 24, at 9:30 a.m.

Father Rodolfo P. Meija, who had pastoral and liturgical responsibilities at Saint John the Baptist Parish Perryopolis, has been named pastor of the parish. Bishop Larry J. Kulick will install Father Meija on Sunday, July 17 at the 10 a.m. Mass.

 

Father Rogelio I. Rodriguez  was appointed by Bishop Kulick to be pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Youngwood. Father Willam McGuirk, who served as pastor since 2013, retires after serving 40 years as a priest in the Diocese of Greensburg. Father Rodriguez will be installed by Bishop Kulick during at Mass at Holy Cross Parish later this summer.

 

During the pastoral installation Mass, the priests will be presented by Bishop Kulick to the parish pastoral council and finance councils and to the parish staff.  The priests will pledge to seek the guidance and advice of the councils and staff members and will proclaim their acceptance of the teachings of the Catholic Church.

 

In addition to installing Fathers Rodriguez, Ambre and Meija as pastors, Bishop Kulick appointed Father Teodoro Cortezano, administrator of Saint Agnes Parish, North Huntington, due to the retirement of its pastor Monsignor V. Paul Fitzmaurice.  Father Cortezano served as parochial vicar at Saint Agnes prior to his appointment as administrator.

 

Bishop Kulick also appointed Father Richard J. Kosisko administrator of Saint John the Evangelist Parish, Latrobe while remaining pastor of Holy Family Parish, Latrobe and Father Rodel Molina, from Parochial Vicar of Mt. St. Peter Parish, New Kensington and Sacramental Ministry to Saint Joseph and Saint Mary of Czestochowa Parishes, New Kensington and Saint Margaret Mary, Lower Burrell, to administrator of Saint Rose Parish, Latrobe.

Special

Father William G. Berkey has been granted an additional six-month medical leave of absence while remaining as pastor of Saint John the Evangelist and Saint Rose Parishes, Latrobe with weekend duties at Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.

Father Mark R. Dunmire, Chaplain at Greensburg Central Catholic Jr/Sr High School and emergency coverage at Saint Anne Home, Greensburg, while remaining as parochial vicar of Saint Bruno and Saint Paul Parishes, Greensburg and in all other Diocesan appointments.

The Reverend German Tiru, OFM Cap., at his own request has resigned from Sacramental Assistance at Church of the Resurrection, Clymer, Pine Grove State Correctional Institute and as Chaplain to Indiana Regional Medical Center.

The Reverend Philip White, OFM, Cap., Sacramental Assistance at Church of the Resurrection, Clymer, Pine Grove State Correctional Institute, Indiana, and as Chaplain to Indiana Regional Medical Center with residence at Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Friary, Indiana, Pennsylvania.
