The Catholic Accent
Father Julius Capongpongan is one of more than 20 international priests serving in the Diocese of Greensburg. He is beloved by the parishioners in the Yough Catholic Community of Connellsville and Dunbar and meets weekly with Ed Thomas, who is a parishioner of St. Aloysius Parish, Dunbar.
Together they share in fellowship and tomato sandwiches. Father Julius visits Thomas every Friday and spends the holidays with him and his family as well. Thomas describes himself as Father Julius’s “United States dad” and teaches him some history from the surrounding area.
Father Julius is looking forward to the International Food Festival and the visit from his home Bishop of Tagum, Bishop Medil Aseo.
Join us Friday, August 25, 5:30 p.m. at Christ our Shepherd Center for an International Food Fest to raise funds to support the priestly formation program in the Diocese of Tagum in the Philippines.
