GREENSBURG – Trash is treasure at St. Paul Parish. Parishioners are organizing the annual Trash ’n’ Treasure S
ale, which starts July 12 with an early bird sale and ends July 15 with a $5 bag sale.
The sale features 27 shopping categories. Parishioner Nancy Soles says there are great deals for everyone.
“We have books, sporting supplies, dishes, glassware, electronics, kitchen appliances and everything else you can think of,” Soles said.
Parishioner Kathy Kutcha said the sale is a parish tradition.
“We started upstairs in three classrooms when we had the school. Now that the school isn’t here, we have access to sell in the cafeteria,” Kutcha said.
The sale is sponsored by the Rosary Altar Society. Proceeds benefit parish needs, including building maintenance.
“The people make it special; I like to come and interact with people, especially when it helps the church because I love it,” Kutcha said.
People come from far and near to support the event.
“People have come as far as from West Virginia and as close as Greensburg,” Soles said. “The people come for the great deals and food.” “We will have haluski, hot dogs, sauerkraut, pulled pork, ham barbecue and Italian sausages.”
A basket raffle, bake sale and refreshments will also be featured.
