Father Alvin E. Cabungcal, a former international priest in the Diocese for five years, died at the age of 54 in Lucban, Quezon, Philippine.
Born on November 3, 1969, Father Alvin attended seminary at St. Alphonse School of Theology in Isabang, Lucena City, Philippines. He was ordained to the priesthood on September 3, 1996 by Bishop Ruben T. Profugo.
Father Alvin served his Diocese as a parochial vicar at various parishes in the Philippines from 1996 until 2013 when he became an international priest in the Diocese of Greensburg.
Father Alvin served as pastor of Saint John the Baptist Parish, Perryopolis, and parochial vicar of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, Fayette County, and was parochial vicar at Immaculate Conception Parish in Irwin during his time in Greensburg between 2013 and 2018, when he returned to the Philippines.
